We are greeted this new week with a potent astrological configuration, as the warrior Mars orbits into a conjunction with Pluto in Capricorn; this means that they are at the same exact zodiacal degree. Pluto moves very slowly through the zodiac because his orbit is very long, while Mars moves more quickly, so the energy that has been building over the past week or so peaks today, and will fade over the next week as Mars moves on.
Mars is the planet of energy and drive while Pluto is the planet of deep transformation. With Mars conjunct Pluto, potent forces of the psyche are unleashed. Your desire nature manifests more fully and thus becomes better known. There is also the potential for anger or even violence to surface. You can still, however, with careful attention, direct your actions in a way that leads to healing and regeneration.
Because this takes place in the sign of Capricorn, there is a sense that whatever occurs in these two weeks will have a stable and lasting effect. It is also important to note that Uranus is coming closer to another perfect square with Pluto on December 15th. This is the infamous configuration that colors the entire decade with an unmistakable theme of rapid change and massive transformation.
If you feel like just when you get oriented, life throws you another curve ball, you may take heart that are not alone. Our planetary culture is undergoing a tremendous shift, and these changes begin on a personal level. You benefit today by harnessing the fierceness of your inner warrior for facing your demons head on, being in this regard courageously honest with yourself, taking full personal responsibility for the actions and ways of being you are promoting by your actions that radiate out into the world. Whereas pointing the finger of blame leaves you powerless, learning to take responsibility for your part of any troubling dynamic allows you to regain your power, and begin a more universal healing process that reaches from yourself, to the rest of the planet.
A Buddhist approach to relationship, by Isa Gucciardi, Ph.D. of the Foundation of the Sacred Stream, an organization in Northern California, has some potent insight into such a task: 'In order to learn as much as we can from the revelations our relating provides us, we must be willing to take responsibility for the ways we relate to one another. If we don't take responsibility for our intentions, motivations and actions, we entangle ourselves in a web of ... karmic conditioning.' (More at the Foundation of the Sacred Stream )
