Two amazing aspects are coloring our skies right now – Venus in conjunction with Jupiter in Leo, and Mercury in Virgo opposite Neptune in Pisces. The latter completes this evening. This is an interesting combination of energies; on the one hand, you could experience an air of renewed excitement and optimism in relationships or the material realm; on the other hand there may be a tendency for illusion, perhaps deception, or an outbreak of wild fantasies.
Venus governs relationships, as well as aesthetics, and embodiment, or anything involving your five senses. The archetype of Jupiter promotes expansion, positivity, learning, and optimism. These two planets coinciding in the sign of Leo, signifying a fiery, bright, and proud energy, can thus be read as generally beneficial, fun, and attractive; this astrological combination would correspond to exploring romantically, discovering that a new love is blossoming, or that your pocketbook is actually expanding. You could also be finding that extra burst of energy to do something fun and creative.
Meanwhile Mercury, governing intellect and mental realms, in Virgo, the sign that it rules, is directly in opposition to fanciful Neptune, which governs spirituality, imagination, and dream realms. This is a tricky aspect, as the practicality of Virgo comes to be at odds with the ability to dream, or to simply go on faith. In fact it may be confusing at this time to consider what is a practical motivation for reaching a worthwhile ideal, versus what is simply riding on the whims of an overactive imagination.
If we consider these two aspects together, we can conjure up encountering an overly confident manner, especially in relationship, and as well the possibility for miscommunication, or deceptions of self or others. You could profitably imagine yourself embarking on a fantastic or escapist journey, so long as there is an underlying context of fun, rather than banking on anything in a practical sense. If these aspects are approached with mindfulness and strategy, they do represent a beautiful opportunity to put the so-called real world on the back burner, at least for a moment, to enjoy being swept away by creativity and joy.
