Thursday evening's Full Moon is quite an interesting one, in part because of the aspects made to other planets beside the Sun and Moon, namely Venus and Chiron. The Full Moon configuration itself, as it comes to the perfection of its opposition, makes powerful aspects to Jupiter, and also a T-square to Chiron, the Wounded Healer. The quality of this lunar phase encourages the recognition that we are no longer anymore in the place where we began, at the New Moon time, so that new realizations are inevitable. This is especially so considering the self-reflective nature of the Mercury Retrograde that we are by now fully entered into. Since Chiron is so activated, and in combination with Jupiter, and because we are in the midst of a fairly intense Mercury Retrograde period, we each find ourselves on what could be termed "the shamanic path;" that is to say, we are going through some difficult changes during this late spring and early summer, and we are exploring new territory within our psyches as we do so.
In uncovering the deepest and darkest stretches of our interior spaces, we might come up against prior wounding that we had at the time chosen to ignore or push underneath the rug, and that now comes back in a very poignant way to haunt our normal waking existence with painful truth. The thing is, all truth is valuable, even the type of information that initially feels uncomfortable. Once you get past the first steps, it might not seem as difficult, and this is so to the extent that you can admit to yourself that while something unpleasant might have happened in the past, you can accept it and work through it without making anyone bad or wrong, not even you. As you go through this experience of exploration, if you can remain allowing of your process and release yourself from judgment, you might be surprised at the benefits that accrue.
Just as the shaman of indigenous culture has had to slowly and experimentally find his or her own way through, separate from the normal course of events of the surrounding society, we have each of us the painful necessity to find our own way forward. This is a difficult but vitally necessary series of steps that we all must take, some sooner and some later, as we come to know ourselves at the deepest possible levels. As we do we find for ourselves a solitary path that is entirely independent from consensus thinking and our own early conditioning. In this effort, the right kind of relationships can be our guide and mainstay, and that is where Saturn and Venus come into the picture of this Full Moon patterning. We find Venus, representing relationship, in the 18th degree of Taurus, exactly opposite Saturn in Scorpio, exact to the minute of a degree, which brings focus and concentration to the relationship picture. Then, too, Chiron occupies the exact same degree and minute of Pisces, so that the process of this Full Moon intimately links by trine and sextile all three of these important planetary archetypes. We have the opportunity now to stop still in the normal functioning of our most important relationships so that we might explore the underlying difficulties that sometimes prevent them from abundantly blooming in our lives, and in order that we might become more fully conversant with our own dark places, at soul level. It is an important and a holy time for us all.
The Sabian Symbols for the Sun and Moon in this Full Moon configuration are revealing; for the Sun, in the 23rd degree of Gemini, "Three fledglings in a nest high in a tree," which reminds us of the extent that we live our lives as constant newborns, halfway between earth and heaven. Marc Edmond Jones refers to "unconditioned creativity exalted to the point of complete freedom." For the Moon we have "Immigrants entering." Indeed we are all strangers here — in these unlikely spaces, far from home — trying to make our way in spite of that, our challenge and yet, somehow, our glory as well.
With the massive changes that are happening now, I highly recommend that folks get a transit report tailored specifically to their chart for the most accurate description of what's in store for you in the months ahead.
Find out with this report that gives detailed descriptions of your transits for a three, six or twelve month period. This report was written by astrologer Henry Seltzer.
All transits are fully interpreted with insightful clues on how to navigate the challenges ahead and gives the date range for when each transit is in effect. Includes transits to planets Mars through Pluto. Also includes interpretations for Chiron - a unique feature of this report!
