Thursday's New Moon, taking place at the 11th degree of Aquarius, is a powerful one, mostly because of the Uranus and Pluto patternings that surround it. The transformational tenor of these times is now very much in evidence, with Uranus, the ruler of Aquarius, moving forward in Aries, and so getting closer each day to the next perfection of his storied square alignment with Pluto, due a few months ahead, on April 21st. We also have with this New Moon an extra potent dose of wrecking ball energy, since the New Moon makes a close semi-sextile aspect to Pluto, conjuncted as well by a stationing Venus and an exact Jupiter opposition. We are in for it, like it or not and whether we think that we are ready for it or not, the oncoming metamorphosis of values and activities that we actually might find in the end that we truly needed in correspondence to our own ultimate best interest.
The vibrant incoming energy of this powerful New Moon configuration thus lights up the Cancer-Capricorn axis and brings into great relief a T-square, including Jupiter, in cardinal, or action-oriented signs. What we feel at the deepest level of our very being is brought out into the way that we actualize in the world. This is the essence of the transformation that we are in the midst of, both collectively and individually. Certainly one glance at the headlines might convince that we as a culture cannot go on much longer without radical adjustments to the way that we do things. The same could apply to our own lives, were we to take careful stock of where we are currently situated and for what striving.
The internal nature of these times is very valuable for doing just that, with all three inner planets in the process of moving backward during some part of the first few months of this year. As we come off the Venus retrograde, Mercury Retrogrades in early February. Mars is about to turn retrograde in March and is already slowing down, taking its time to traverse the sign of Libra, which Venus rules. All in all, Mars will spend the next six months in Libra, versus its usual two-month stay in a sign. Relationships with important others are therefore very much on our minds as well, as this climactic year gets fully underway. We need the viewpoint of others, in complementary perspective to our own, in order to make progress with what we are attempting to accomplish on these interior levels, and to get it right.
Both Mars in the sign of relationship, and also Saturn in deeply transformative Scorpio, are emphasized with this New Moon configuration, reminding us that we are playing for keeps, here on this earthly plane, and that it matters what we do, not just for ourselves but for everyone around us also.
The Sabian Symbol of this New Moon is instructive. It is, for the eleventh degree of Aquarius, "A man confronted by his inspiration," and Marc Edmond Jones includes the greater collective surrounding our own individual movement forward when he references "enthusiastic idealism and a tireless desire to serve others." We are each one of us holographic representations of the whole, and we matter, very much, in the lives of everyone around us, as we make our move, whatever that move might be.
With the massive changes that are happening now, I highly recommend that folks get a transit report tailored specifically to their chart for the most accurate description of what's in store for you in the months ahead.
Find out with this report that gives detailed descriptions of your transits for a three, six or twelve month period. This report was written by astrologer Henry Seltzer.
All transits are fully interpreted with insightful clues on how to navigate the challenges ahead and gives the date range for when each transit is in effect. Includes transits to planets Mars through Pluto. Also includes interpretations for Chiron - a unique feature of this report!
